Abstract : An energy decay rate is obtained for solutions of wave type equations in a bounded region in R superscript n whose boundary consists partly of a nontrapping reflecting surface and partly of an energy absorbing surface. Unlike most previous results on this problem, the results presented here are valid for regions having connected boundaries. Keywords: Wave equations, Boundary stabilization, Exponential stability.
