Abstract : This study defines the problem of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) remote detection of explosives gathers available data on the materials of interest, defines a figure of merit suitable for comparing alternative instrument configuration, and uses the figure-of-merit to identify one or more remote detection NMR systems with the potential is contribute to the solution of the decision problem.
