Abstract : HQ TAC/LGY uses Dyna-METRIC as a WRSK assessment tool but they have expressed a need for a more flexible model that is capable of running on a microcomputer. For example, Dyna-METRIC has a number of limiting assumptions such as assuming unlimited maintenance capacity. The purpose of this thesis work was to develop a model to emulate and extend the Dyna-METRIC modelling capability. To begin this research a simulation package had to be chosen. Microcomputer simulation languages were compared and SLAM II PC was selected because of its price, portability, widespread acceptance as a simulation language, and the availability of the software.
