Abstract : This is the final technical report for a research program to study repetitive opening switches using optically activated semiconductors. This program was funded by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research for the period September 1, 1984 to August 31, 1987 under Grant No. AFOSR-84-0359. The goal of this research was to study opening switch characteristics of various semiconductors in conjunction with inductive energy storage systems.
