Abstract : A summary of the technical work performed during the past twelve months under AFOSR Grant 85-0195 is presented in this report. Significant progress on a number of adaptive concepts has been made. Problems associated with earlier adaptive mesh schemes controlling cell area/volume have been resolved. Resolution of this difficulty led to the evolution of an adaptive orthogonal scheme for two-dimensional grids. This technique is even structurally simpler than the original Poisson equation based adaptive methods. Other research emphasis has been placed on developing an unstructured solution scheme as a fast solver to generate these grids.
