Abstract : Numerical simulation was used to explore the process of transition that a flow undergoes in changing from a laminar state to a turbulent state. The effort concentrated on three relatively simple flows for which extensive databases exist; these are the plane channel, curved channel, and flat boundary layer flows. Significant results were produced for all three cases.
