Abstract : The Stokes Phenomenon is known to be a pervasive feature of asymptotics, but its explanation in the literature is obscured by intricate and lengthy technicalities. This article presents a simpler approach to its understanding and treatment as a natural aspect of a well-motivated characterization of functions by approximants of different multivaluedness.
