Abstract : An in-flight investigation of the effect of head-up display symbol accuracy has been conducted using a variable stability T-33 aircraft. The results indicate that 100-200 ft lateral errors and 500-1500 ft longitudinal errors in locating a contact analog synthetic runway did not cause difficulties for the evaluation pilots.
