Abstract : This study evaluates the ability to conduct low altitude air to air refueling (LAAAR) (3000-5000 feet AGL) training in the European area of operations. The document examines the existing studies of LAAAR, both research and tests. Primarily, it analyzes the low cloud deck and poor visibility, common to European weather, to evaluate the possibility and probability of successful LAAAR. The study recommends beginning limited LAAAR training and further charting of weather data available from USAFETAC, 'Station Climatic Summaries, Europe'.
