Abstract : Project Rivet Workforce, the Air Force initiative to reduce and consolidate the number of aircraft maintenance Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs) required to support a weapons system, will have significant impact on Air National Guard, (ANG), maintenance personnel in addition to the Air Guard's maintenance organizational structure. As the results of Rivet Workforce (RWF) are implemented through restructured AFSCs, the ANG training requirements expands. This study looks at RWF and the implications of new training requirements within the ANG. The unique training environment of the traditional guardsmen is discussed and recommendations are made to tailor the training methodology to meet the needs of these traditional guardsmen.
