Abstract : In the future, numerous new or modified two-run (test, disassembly, inspection, reassembly, retest) sampling plans will be needed. This study reviews the key qualitative factors of engineering design, manufacturing tooling, procedures, and the work force, which affect two-run sampling requirements. Then the program's potential costs and benefits are discussed followed by the applicability and usefulness of Air Force and Systems Command quality assurance regulations 74-1 and MIL-STD-105D, MIL-STD-414, and MIL-E-8970. The study concludes that the four qualitative factors listed above, should be used to tailor future two-run sampling programs for maximum effectiveness at an affordable cost.
