Abstract : Moire interferometry was used to record simultaneously the vertical and horizontal displacements associated with stable crack growth in single edge notched, 2024-0 aluminum specimens. For a small stable crack growth of 1.5 mm, the vertical displacement showed the dominance of the HRR field but the horizontal displacement deviated from the HRR field at the early stage of loading.
