Abstract : The purpose of this report is to summarize available literature on the effects of oil and related hazardous materials on freshwater organisms, concentrating on winter (ice) conditions. A comprehensive review of various other hazardous materials was not the purpose of this report since toxicological information on a myriad of substances is available from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and from the manufacturers.
