Abstract : This study has resulted in the development of a comprehensive airborne radar simulation program that emulates the performance of modern Doppler filtering/CFAR techniques operating in a simulated nonstationary airborne clutter environment. Conventional and advanced adaptive Doppler filtering/CFAR techniques are implemented in the software which is created for the VAX 11/780 computer. The adaptive Doppler filtering techniques are based on modern spectral estimation methods: the autocorrelation lags estimate method (ALE); the forward-backward sample matrix inversion method (FBSMI); the maximum entropy method (MEM); the maximum likelihood/maximum entropy method (MLM/MEM); the modified least-squares autoregressive method (MLSA); and the principal eigenvector subspace method (PESM).
