Abstract : The purpose of this study is to examine Persian Gulf operations in light of past deficiencies in some operations since the turn of the century. Congressional critics have commented for years on the failure of the military services to perform together in an effective and efficient manner, but saw little reform taking place within the Department of Defense (DOD). Recent Joint Task Force (JTF) operations in the Persian Gulf will be compared to historical examples of past military deficiencies.
