Abstract : This paper reviews the application of modern digital image analysis and processing techniques to physical modeling of typical wind engineering flow conditions. Using low-cost conventional image capture hardware and software it is possible to measure flow velocities, turbulence characteristics in turbulent shear layers, or, alternatively specify instantaneous and average plume dispersion features.
