Abstract : The ships of Military Sealift Command's Naval Fleet Auxiliary Force presently represent approximately half of the U.S. Navy's Auxiliary inventory and their numbers are expected to rapidly grow in number over the next several years (due to budgetary pressures and other reasons). Since it is inevitable that they will sail in harm's way, for their protection and to provide greater battle group flexibility, they must be defensively armed....
