Abstract : This thesis presents the design, implementation and evaluation of a communication system, capable of serializing 14-channel digital parallel data, transmission and reception of the serial data over a high speed fiber link at 39 Mbps and converting the serial data back to its 14-channel parallel form. A time division multiplexing technique was used to transmit the data. The high-speed Emitter-Coupled Logic devices were employed to construct the design.
