Abstract : Introduction. The Department of Defense Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) is designed as a globally distributed network of independent but interoperating intelligence information and special processing systems. The DoD spends more than $1.5 billion a year on about 300 DoD intelligence information systems that process and disseminate information critical to the national defense and to support the warfighter.
