Abstract : It is shown that cochannel interference removal from digital quadrature-amplitude-modulated signals without the introduction of signal distortion can be accomplished by using linear-plus-cubic frequency-shift filtering. The theory of higher-order cyclostationary signals is used to explain how this can be done, and the results of simulations that quantify the performance of the method are presented.
