Abstract : This investigation, known as the potential source area definition study, had two primary objectives. The first objective was a review and evaluation of known and suspected potential (secondary) contamination sources at Rocky Mountain Arsenal. The second objective was to classify each source into one of three categories: (1) Current problem area to be addressed, (2) Areas with future potential for contaminant migration that will require monitoring, (3) No existing or potential problem likely. The primary objective of this assessment was of the migration of contaminants from source areas within RMA towards the arsenal boundary. Areas excluded from this study encompass basin A, basin F, the north and northwest boundaries, the south plants, the sanitary and chemical waste sewers, and the sewage treatment plant and lagoon. -BKA
