Abstract : The initial goals of this project are to collect autopsy tissues from HIV-positive asymptomatic drug addicts who die unexpectedly from drug overdoses. A wide sampling of autopsy tissue will be subjected to various techniques in identifying and localizing HIV-1. The viral burden, cellular sites of replication and progression of viral disease will be studied.
