Abstract : This executive overview describes the concept of operations for the Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS), which will support Fleet tactical training and readiness evaluation. This overview, which follows the outline shown, first describes the purpose of the system and then offers a short discussion of the major shortfalls in current operational training suppose that are intended to be corrected by the TCTS. The operational performance requirements am then reviewed briefly before discussing the available technologies and instrumentation functional approach that make it feasible to develop a TCTS at this time. To further clarify the concept of operations, a graphic example is presented to show how the TCTS would be employed operationally in support of a Battle Group (BG) training exercise.
