Abstract : The present work contributes an understanding of the human and organizational factors that are important for the successful implementation of new technology by an organization. Results include a template of success factors, with which an organization can assess its readiness to undertake new technology, and a technology implementation methodology tailored to the organization's state of readiness. The implementation methodology, which follows a continuous improvement process, balances the needs of the organization with those of its people and the characteristics of the new technology. The content validity of the technology implementation methodology was developed from fifteen case studies in the literature and performing team's experiences. Two additional technology transfer cases at the San Antonio Air Logistics Center were then studied, and it was found that the methodology correctly discriminated between the relative success of the cases.
