Abstract : Current methods of forecasting cloud cover within meteorology forecast models contain a high level of uncertainty. The primary goal of this research program was to reduce this uncertainty by utilizing satellite and surface-derived cloud observations together with standard meteorological measurements to evaluate and improve our ability to accurately diagnose and forecast cloud coverage.
