Abstract : A collaborative experimental and theoretical study of a number of elementary collisional processes involving small molecular free radicals of importance in combustion and in the decomposition of propellants has been carried out. These have involved chemical reactions and photodissociation, as well as nonreactive collision-induced rotational and electronic transitions. Information on non-bonding interactions involving free radicals was also obtained from analysis of the electronic spectrum of van der Waals complexes of these species. (AN)
