Abstract : This report responds to your request as the former chairman of the Subcommittee on Military Forces and Personnel, Committee on Armed Services, that we evaluate the Army's Total Army Analysis (TAA) process to determine if its results are based on valid data and assumptions. The TAA process is used to determine the required support forces to sustain combat divisions and brigades. Support forces include units such as transportation, maintenance, military police, and quartermaster. This report focuses on logistical data and related assumptions used in the process.
