Abstract : The objectives of this research were (a) to quantitatively demonstrate the diamond-coated-bit, culler-boom tool as an expedient, cost-effective, concrete- removal method for the rehabilitation of locks, dams, tunnels, and other similar structures and (b) to provide real production and cost data for comparison with other removal methods. The end product of this research was to be a new diamond-coated-bit, culler-boom tool that would give U.S. contractors a competitive edge in the world concrete-removal market. (MM)
