Abstract : According to EPA, traces of toxic chemicals can now be found in nearly every American as a result of exposure to toxic chemicals released into the air, water, and land. Toxic chemicals such as heavy metals and synthetic organic compounds can cause cancer, birth defects, brain damage, and other serious adverse health effects. Reducing or eliminating toxic chemicals in industrial processes and products can directly improve the health and safety of workers, consumers, and the public, as well as reduce the quantity of toxic substances released into the environment.
