Abstract : Measurements of air blast pressures and earth pressures induced by air blast from the airburst bombs of Operation Buster are described. Graphs of the pressure time data derived from the air pressure gauge and earth pressure gauges at four depths are presented. Certain factors which have made the data questionable quantitatively are discussed. The principal findings are that the induced ground pressures are possibly somewhat greater than the air blast pressures, and that the attenuation factor of the earth pressure between the 5 and 20 ft depths may be as much as 2.
