Abstract : To make comparisons of short-term lethality on trifluorojodomethane (CF3I) and Halon 1301, 1 5-minute, nose-only inhalation exposures were performed at 30, 50, and 80% Halon 1301. Slight tremors and ataxia were noted following 50 and 80% Halon 1301 exposures. All animals survived and gross examination at 14 days postexposure indicated normal findings. The lack of mortality at these concentrations indicate that Halon 1301 is less potent than CF3I.
