Abstract : We originally proposed that chlorpyrifos, the widely used organophosphorus pesticide, induces the expression of the multidrug resistance (mdr) gene product in a manner similar to that of chemotherapeutic agents and may contribute to a MDR phenotype seen in untreated and relapsed breast cancer patients.
