Abstract : The research reported here has been conducted over the last three years under the AFOSR grant F49620-92-J-0500). It is divided into four general categories of projects: (1) VLSI implementations of the early auditory stages. (2) Functional organization of the auditory cortex: Neurophysiology (3) Functional models of the auditory system: Psychoacoustics. (4) Analysis of neural network architectures with wavelet transforms. We shall review briefly the main results achieved in these four areas. (AN)
