Abstract : This study is an analysis of thirty-five peace operations conducted by the United Nations from 1948 to mid-1995. Each chapter discusses the initial crisis, the U.N. response, the adoption of the U.N. resolution, the deployment of forces, and the current (1995) situation. Each chapter also includes a chronology of key events and an analysis of the mission's effectiveness.
