Abstract : The Marine Corps Modeling and Simulation Investment Strategy is a USMC Total Force Strategy for attaining the desired M&S end states through Fiscal Year (FY) 2010. It provides program managers (PM) and other decision makers involved with the Combat Development Process (CDP) and the Planning, Programming, and Budgeting System (PPBS) with a strategy for implementing advanced modeling and simulation, to include distributed simulation, throughout the Marine Corps and across all functional areas. The Marine Corps has defined a set of milestones that represent attainment of a significant M&S capability that supports attainment of the end states delineated in the Marine Corps Modeling and Simulation Master Plan. These milestones are presented in terms of five M&S operational capabilities which encompass the end states: (1) MAGTF training, (2) mission planning, (3) mission preview, (4) mission rehearsal, and (5) the combat development and acquisition processes.
