Abstract : Engineering materials have long been known to exhibit marked differences in their mechanical behavior under conditions of impact and high rates of loading as compared to their behavior under quasi-static loading conditions.. Thus, the proper utilization of these materials in dynamic environments requires a knowledge of their behavior under dynamic conditions.
