Abstract : In order to estimate the effectiveness of random urinalysis drug testing strategies, it is necessary to estimate the probability of detecting drug users. This report presents a series of methodologies for estimating the probability of detecting gaming drug users; individuals who choose their specific days of drug usage based upon their perceived likelihood that testing will occur on a given day. It was observed that command test strategy can dramatically impact the probability of detection. Gaming drug users were less likely to be detected under all scenarios than their non-gaming counterparts.
