Abstract : This study investigates how doctrine addresses Brigade Support Area (BSA) Protection. Using the battlefield operating system framework (Intelligence, Maneuver, Fire Support, Air Defense, Engineer, Combat Service Support, and Battle Command) the study reviews significant events during six rotations at the National Training Center, and determines if doctrine existed, was it used, and if it worked.
