Abstract : This report summarizes the analytical approach developed to estimate the total ionizing radiation dose received by Earth orbiting satellites. The analytical tools and methodology utilized in this work represent a departure from the more traditional, 'industry standard' approaches. The approach developed was applied to the problem of determining the mission total dose for the Swedish satellite ODIN.
