Abstract : This report documents recent progress in the field of numerical analysis of problems in fluid mechanics. The modeling equations include gas dynamics, incompressible flow, their viscous extensions, reactive flow and multiphase flow. Applications of these advanced methods in the areas of modeling blast wave environments and shock loading of nonclassical materials are discussed. New algorithms for problems involving coupled wave speed and source term stiffness, along with improved versions of multi-material extensions of the underlying compressible algorithm are discussed.
