Abstract : The concept of crack growth resistance curve (R-curve) has been applied to random fiber glass composites and analytical relations for R-curve have been obtained. The effect of thickness and the procedure of lamination is studied. It is found that thickness does not affect significantly the fracture characteristics. The analytical relations for R-curve are used to predict the residual strength characteristics and the fracture toughness
