Abstract : Close in air blast from the Danny Boy event resulted almost entirely from the ground shock induced air blast. Little pressure resulted from venting gases. Consequently, measured pressures were only one third to one fourth of those predicted. Ground shock induced pressures from the nuclear charge were found to attenuate less rapidly than those from chemical explosives.
