Abstract : Upper and lower bounds are obtained for the amount of linear test time required to demonstrate a specified lower confidence limit value on reliability when time to failure has a Weibull distribution with known shape parameter. These bounds are compared with the corresponding required test time when failure time has an exponential distribution. Equations are developed for the ratios of these times.
