Abstract : Preliminary studies on a simplified kinetic model for the hydrogen flame confirm the existence of the shock-like structure in flame temperature space for the logarithm of the mass burning rate that had been discovered previously in the study of the carbon monoxide flame; notably; the mass buring rate undergoes a multiplicative jump in contrast to the additive jump in regular shock waves. jg p1
