Abstract : Tensile creep tests were performed on twelve specimens of O degrees unidirectional boron/epoxy and on twenty-four specimens of 7075-T6 aluminum alloy reinforced with O degrees unidirectional boron/epoxy. An analytical procedure for predicting the creep properties of composite-reinforced metals is presented. Agreement between calculated and experimental creep curves varies with test temperature. These discrepancies between experiment and analysis are probably not due to an error in the analysis itself, but rather to uncertainty in the residual stresses in the specimens.
