Abstract : The response of the Graseby lonics Otto Fuel Monitor (OFM MK2) to propylene glycol dinitrate (PGDN), the volatile, major component of Otto Fuel has been determined in a range of environmental conditions. The OFM was found capable of detecting PGDN vapour, when it is present in air, at the concentration set by the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission as the Worksafe Australia occupational exposure standard. Characteristics of the OFM that should be considered when using the monitor are discussed.
