Abstract : Outgassing tests as a function of temperature were conducted using an epoxy- impregnated magnet coil. Glass tape impregnated with epoxy resin provided the electrical insulation between the conductors. Outgassing data were taken by measuring the rate of pressure rise due to the magnet coil heating in a closed vacuum system. The outgassing rate increased exponentially from 0.0000000305 torr-liter per square centimeter second at an epoxy temperature of 24C to 0.0000009 torr-liter per square centimeter second at 53C. The coil assembly had a higher outgassing rate at temperatures above 30C than small disk-shaped samples of the same epoxy.
