The leaders of the twenty first century will need to assimilate sufficient tactical and technical skills and insight to anticipate, welcome and use ever increasing technological advances. The paper begins with a hypothetical scenario that describes the potential utilization of 'information age' technology in future wars, it further addresses, 'Who will led?' in this 'high tech' environment, the impact of new technology on leadership characteristics and the effect of technology on command, control and communication.
