Abstract : Since the summer of 1992, the Soar/IFR research group has been building intelligent automated agents for tactical air simulation. The Soar/IFOR research project exists at three sites, the University of Michigan, the University of Southern California, and Carnegie Mellon University. The ultimate goal of this project is to develop automated pilots whose behavior in simulated engagements is indistinguishable from that of human pilots. Our work has concentrated on developing agents for a variety of air to air and air to ground missions. This technical report is a collection of research papers that have been generated from this project between Spring 1994 and Spring 1995. The research covered in these papers spans a wide spectrum of issues in agent development such as learning, planning, coordination, command and control, natural language processing, agent tracking, and piloting rotary wing aircraft.
