Abstract : This paper discusses the impact of display pixel shape, size and spacing on displayed image quality. The application of Fourier Transforms to sampled imagery is described. A characterization function for sampled imagers is derived by examining the image formation of a point source. Misapplication of the Sampling Theorem is also discussed.
